SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS AT BISHOPSLAND EDUCATIONAL TRUST

Bishopsland is an internationally recognised, postgraduate residential centre, helping newly-established self-employed silversmiths and jewellers to develop their skills.

There is equal concentration on silversmithing skills and the professional skills needed to be able to work successfully as a self-employed maker.

Bishopsland Educational Trust

“The support I received through the South Square Trust allowed my studies at Bishopsland to be a financially viable option. Additionally, knowing that an institution valued my studies and prospective contribution to society was very nurturing and empowering.

I was very lucky to have the opportunity to receive a grant from South Square Trust while I was at Bishopsland, which was a huge help in pursuing my dream of being a self-employed silversmith. There I learned and developed my signature skills of chasing, repoussé and hand engraving which I continue to use some 12 years later.”
